The year is 2020, a worldwide pandemic has emptied the streets of New York of her vital energy. Mounting political pressure keeps everyone in a constant state of paranoia and fear. The free world is run by a game show host.

The artists of New York, never financially sound, are hardest hit. Many flee the city with most of the city's wealth. The few that remain, the loyalists, hide out in their studios, uncertain of what will happen next. Without work, the warmth of the city grows cooler every moment.

Uncertainty blows through the canyon of the city, months before the crisp air of fall will certainly bring more turmoil.

What can be done.

WHAT ABOUT BUYING A SHIRT! THAT WOULD FEEL GOOD! RETAIL THERAPY!! AND LOOKING AT ART! WOWZA THAT SURE TAKES THE MIND OFF OF ALL THIS DOWNER TALK!

Ok, maybe things aren't so bad. Maybe this is just a phase of life. Maybe the warmth of human endeavor can help us. The little things, the important parts of life.

Creativity and love.

The curves of the sculpture will relax you. The moments between breaths, pulling the fabric weight of another shirt across the rack to get a better view of the front in no way reminds you of the hospital room curtain pulling back to reveal another victim of the Coronavirus.

Our lives are fleeting. Why run away to the hills to die, when you can stand here and face it with strength. Or at least dressed well.

You might even survive and then you'll have a cool shirt to remember these crazy times.

Beauty for these moments.

The artist is not a shaman or witch. The artist is the artist, and they do what artists are supposed to do.
